Afrirentals is a pay-as-you-go online marketplace that allows individuals and businesses across Africa to list and discover properties, vehicles, and professional services. The platform covers the following categories:

2. User Categories

2.1 Listers

A lister is any individual or business that posts a listing on Afrirentals- whether that is a property, a vehicle, or a professional service. Listers pay a flat fee of $15 per listing. Each listing remains active on the platform for one year from the date of publication.

3.1 Flat Fee Per Listing

Afrirentals operates on a simple pay-as-you-go model. There are no subscriptions, no recurring charges, and no hidden fees.

Accepted payment methods are displayed at checkout. All payments must be completed successfully before a listing is published.

3.4 No Refund Policy

Once a listing is published and live on the platform, the $15 fee is non-refundable. If you choose to remove your listing before the one-year period ends, no refund or credit will be issued for the remaining active time.

3.5 Listing Renewal

When a listing expires after one year, it will no longer be publicly visible. You may renew your listing by paying a new $15 fee, which will restart the 12-month active period.

4. Listing Standards and Guidelines

4.1 Accuracy and Honesty

All listings on Afrirentals must contain accurate, current, and honest information. This applies to all categories- properties, services, vehicles, and events. You must not misrepresent what you are offering, inflate pricing deceptively, or omit material information that would affect a visitor's decision.

4.2 Legal Authority

By posting a listing, you confirm that you have the legal right to advertise the item or service in question. For property listings, this means you are the owner or an authorised agent. For service listings, this means you are a registered or legitimately operating business or individual.

4.3 Listing Maintenance

You are responsible for keeping your listing accurate throughout the 12-month active period. If a property is sold or rented, a service is no longer available, or any other material detail changes, you must update your listing promptly.

4.4 Content Standards

All listing content- including photos, descriptions, and contact details- must be professional, appropriate, and relevant to the service or property being advertised. Low-quality, offensive, or misleading content will be removed without refund.

5. Prohibited Activities

The following are strictly prohibited on Afrirentals:

6. Platform Availability and Changes

Afrirentals aims to keep the platform running reliably at all times. Occasional scheduled maintenance or events outside our control may cause brief interruptions. We will notify users of planned downtime where possible.

We may update platform features, pricing, or these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of Afrirentals after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

We collect and use your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. Your personal information is not shared with third parties without your consent, except where required by law.

8. Intellectual Property

Afrirentals owns all rights to the platform's design, software, branding, and proprietary content. By posting a listing, you retain ownership of your content but grant Afrirentals a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and promote your listing through our platform and associated marketing channels.

You are responsible for ensuring you hold the rights to all content- photos, text, or other materials- that you upload to the platform.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 Platform Intellectual Property

Afrirentals is a digital marketplace and acts as an intermediary connecting listers with visitors. We do not participate in transactions, negotiations, or agreements made between users, and we are not responsible for the outcomes of such interactions.

We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted listing content. Visitors engage with listings at their own discretion and are encouraged to verify information independently before making any decisions.

To the extent permitted by law, Afrirentals is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our platform. Our total liability to any user shall not exceed the total amount paid by that user to Afrirentals in the twelve (12) months preceding the relevant claim.

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.

10. Account Termination

10.1 Voluntary Closure

You may close your account at any time by contacting our support team. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund for any active listings. Your data may be retained for a reasonable period as required by law or for dispute resolution purposes.

10.2 Termination by Afrirentals

We reserve the right to suspend or remove any listing, or terminate any account, without prior notice in cases of Terms violations, fraudulent activity, or behaviour that harms the platform or other users. No refund will be issued in such cases.

If you believe your listing or account was removed in error, you may contact our support team to request a review.

10.3 After Termination

Upon account termination, you will lose access to your dashboard and listing management tools. Any outstanding financial obligations remain due and payable.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

We encourage users to first attempt resolution through direct communication with our support team. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be referred to mediation or binding arbitration in Illinois before pursuing formal legal proceedings. Where legally permissible, users agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis rather than through class action proceedings.
